Padikkai is built from Krishnarayapuram, a small town in Karur district, Tamil Nadu - and we are proud to call it home.
Being rooted here keeps us close to the colours, traditions, craftsmanship and ways of adornment we have grown up around. At the same time, our outlook has always extended beyond what is familiar.
We want to bring these two worlds together - a rooted understanding of Indian adornment and a contemporary perspective on how it can be designed, styled and experienced today.

We bring together Indian motifs with modern geometry, abstract patterns, unexpected colours and contemporary compositions - creating for women who enjoy making their own choices and expressing themselves through what they wear.
Sometimes a piece is meant to complete a look. Sometimes, it is meant to become the look.
And behind every composition is our attention to the smallest details - stone by stone, thread by thread, bangle by bangle.
The Founder

Sweetha Marimuthu
Padikkai was founded by Sweetha Marimuthu, born and raised in Krishnarayapuram, with years spent in Chennai working across graphic design, branding, marketing and advertising.
That creative exposure continues to shape Padikkai - from an instinct for colour and composition to a curiosity for bringing contemporary ideas into Indian adornment.
Building Padikkai back home has also been a shared journey. Alongside Sweetha is her partner, Vinoth, who remains closely involved in building the brand, and a family whose trust and support have made it possible to pursue this ambition from the place they call home.
For Sweetha, Padikkai is an expression of both worlds - rooted in where she comes from, shaped by what she has seen and inspired by what is yet to be created.

Padikkai is brought to life by a growing team of women working across making, detailing, quality checks, customer conversations and order preparation.
But the circle around Padikkai extends beyond our workplace. Behind our founder and many of our team members are families who make space for our ambitions, encourage the work we do and quietly support the everyday effort it takes to keep building.
That sense of community matters to us. We want Padikkai to be a place where women can learn, earn, contribute their skills and take pride in what they create - while that progress is felt in the lives and families around them too.
We are still a growing team, but what we are building together is bigger than a workplace.

Our aspiration is to build from our roots while creating work that can confidently stand alongside beautiful handmade adornments from anywhere in the world - recognised for its design, quality, individuality and the experience surrounding it.
